Located on the western coast of Florida with Tampa to the north, Naples to the south, and the Gulf of Mexico on every other side, Anna Maria Island is a seven-mile stretch of laid-back island paradise made up of three towns: Bradenton Beach to the south, Anna Maria to the north, and Holmes Beach in between.
Anna Maria Island has often been called “Key West of South West Florida”. Here you wont find big high rises as the town has an ordinance against them. What you will find is a mix of old Florida homes and newer construction. You can get onto the island from 2 bridges: Manatee Bridge to the North and Cortez Bridge to the South.
There is so much to explore on this island that it would take forever to share all of its beauty. Personally I recommend what I did when I first moved to the island. Get yourself the favorite island travel which is either a go cart or a bicycle and take it slow. Similar to Key West you will make your way down a side street and then you find a cute little place to eat or a tree house on the beach, which was one of my favorite discoveries and i’m not gonna spoil it.
I have to state that I traveled the entire coast of Florida 3 times before picking this area as my full time residence. There truly is no other place like it.
Real Estate on Anna Maria Island is a hot ticket and in my opinion something you don’t wait for. This island is drawing more and more attention with each year, I have seen it with my own eyes.
